Need Help in the Kitchen?

It was all part of our routine. Every Sunday evening, my husband and I discussed what we were going to eat for dinner the following week. I created grocery lists for him, but we ended up forgetting to buy something, which meant another trip to the grocery store. ?Over the past few years, we had also fallen into a rut, rotating through the same meals week after week.

I have a secret to share. We're out of the rut!

We have a personal assistant who shares delicious and family-friendly recipes with me every week. My assistant also helps me create a shopping list for the recipes, so I don't spend time trying to remember what to buy. My weekly shopping list also includes a Ukrop's coupon each time I print my list. Here's the best part: My personal assistant is a terrific website named YouveGotSupper.com and it's free.

Founded by two Richmond moms, Michelle Jenkins and Susan Aprahamian, the site is the first of its kind to offer comprehensive menu-planning at no cost to its members. Every Thursday, members receive an email with five main dishes and up ?to two sides. Clicking on a link in the email will take you to a recipe page on You've Got Supper. After adding the recipes you would like to your grocery list, you can print the recipes and grocery list. The grocery list prints items only from the recipes you select, so you don't have to figure out just how many eggs you need or whether or not you need to buy jalapeņos for the week.

New recipes are added constantly and all the recipes provided by the service are kid-tested and approved. "If our families approve of the dish, then we share it with our members. If they vote it down, we toss it," said founder Michelle Jenkins.

The recipes are simple, and each recipe includes suggested sides. For the health-conscious, recipes include tips and suggestions to make the recipes even healthier.

To encourage members to share their own recipes with other You've Got Supper users, Jenkins offers an incentive. "Each month, we reward the member with the most frequently downloaded recipe with $50," Jenkins said.

If your family likes a particular recipe, you can add it to your "My Favorites" recipe box. You can combine recipes from your "My Favorites" recipe box with new recipes for your weekly menu. If you want to share your opinion about a recipe or the site, just click on the comments tab to submit your information.

You've Got Supper is growing rapidly. A counter on the website shows over three thousand site visitors, which is good news for users - more people will share recipes in addition to the ones already provided by You've Got Supper.

Jenkins also said they plan to add a blog to You've Got Supper in the near future and hope to have nutritional information for all recipes by summer's end.
