BBQ Chicken Burgers

Brenda has been trying to eat healthier by using ground chicken instead of beef. Her family loves these burgers and so did we. We served them up with some grilled red onion and pepper jack cheese (for the adults) and cheddar cheese (for the kids).
 

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

• 1 lb ground chicken
• 1/4 cup(s) barbeque sauce
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp pepper
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 4 hamburger buns

1. Mix ground chicken, BBQ sauce (your favorite), salt, pepper and garlic power.
2. Grill the burgers (or fry them or broil them) for about 5 minutes per side.
3. Top with your favorite cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, etc.

Note: If you make thin patties, they take less time to cook.
Suggested Side:  Garlic Fries, cole slaw and / or watermelon

I added bread crumbs to make the patties more solid- they were falling apart- and an egg would also be a good idea- but the burgers were very tasty!

If the burgers are not staying together that well, try making smaller burgers and then refrigerating them for a little while before cooking them.
