Best Black Beans

Servings: 4          Prep Time: 5 min.          Cook Time: 15 min.
Add a little garlic and onion to black beans and you have a hearty and healthy side dish.
 

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

• 1 small yellow onion, sliced
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 3 clove(s) garlic, minced
• 1 can(s) black beans, drained and rinsed
• 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
• 1/2 lime(s)

1. Saute onion in olive oil until soft. Add minced garlic and saute for about 1 more minute.
2. Add black beans, red pepper flakes and juice from 1/2 lime to skillet and cook until heated through.

Note: Optional additions - diced tomatoes, cilantro, cumin
Suggested Side: white rice
