Homemade BBQ Sauce

Servings: 4 cups          Prep Time: 10 min.          Cook Time: 30 min.
Yum! Totally worth the effort. We usually marinate a bunch of chicken breasts in this sauce and then cook them on the grill when we have another family over for supper.
 

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

• 24 oz ketchup, low sod.
• 1 cup(s) cider vinegar
• 1/2 cup(s) molasses
• 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp paprika
• 1 tbsp onion powder
• 1 tbsp dry mustard
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Season with black pepper and a little extra cayenne to taste. Add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium.

2. Let sauce simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Let cool.

I agree - this sauce is very yummy and totally worth the effort (which wasn't THAT much) and it also smelled really good while it was cooking.
